GLR State Days for 2018
Indiana State Day
The Sycamore Ridge Chapter of Peru, Indiana hosted the 2018 Indiana State Day on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at the Denver Baptist Church. Terri Bay taught a class on Ukrainian Whitework called Mini Grace. The mini grace project involved basic level whitework skills, ability to do satin stitch without assistance, and familiarity with reading charts and graphs.
Illinois State Day
The Windy City Chapter hosted the 2018 Illinois State Day on Saturday & Sunday, October 20 - 21, 2018, from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Ruthmarie Hofmann taught Earthsong II, a mixed media project that included detached needleweaving, surface stitchery, canvas embroidery stitches, dimensional stitchery, and bead work. The event was held at Loyola University Chicago's Lake Shore Campus in the Rogers Park neighborhood.
Ohio State Day
The Youngstown Area Chapter hosted the 2018 Ohio State day on Friday and Saturday, September 14 - 15, 2018 at the Poland Library in Poland, Ohio. Kurdy Biggs taught an elegant piece of shimmering threads on a metallic bronze canvas that folds up into a cube, called Elegance Cubed. Beads and crystals were used to add depth and sparkle to this Faberge inspired 3-D project.
