Mike Farmer (new member of the North Coast Chapter as of July 2010) won two red ribbons (2nd prize in class) at the Lorain County Fair. He entered two needlepoint pieces, one in the general category and one "from chart." The two pieces are "Gathered In," a Sandy Rodgers piece that was a Chapter project in his ANG Chapter. The other is "Twister”, designed by Patricia Spencer, was in a book from Nordic Needle.

At the Fall 2010 GLR meeting, Needle Artisans of Northwest Indiana displayed a selection of outreach projects developed and taught by chapter members at Camp Quality Illinois. Items from the display span the decade of our participation in this project.  [OCT2010]

GLR Regional Director gavel carved from Wisconsin cherry wood. Notice that the head is a thimble and the handle is a needle.
Mary Jo Prieve, GLR Director 1998-2000, commissioned the gavel to be made by Land Bacon of Verona, Wisconsin.  His wife, Phyllis, is a member of the Madison Area Chapter, as is Mary Jo. [OCT2010]
