Northern
Michigan Chapter
Michigan
Embroiderers' Guild
of America
General Chapter Information:
The Northern Michigan Chapter of
the Embroiderers Guild of America was chartered in 1978. We currently have 40
primary members and 4 plural members. We invite you to attend a meeting, whether
you have never held a needle in your hand or are an advanced stitcher. We do a
variety of projects geared for various stitch levels. We try to teach and learn
new stitches and techniques. Most of all, we have fun in the process.
Meeting Times
and Locations:

We meet the last Wednesday of the month at 11:00 a.m.
We meet at
Transfiguration Episcopal Church, 8119 West M-68, Indian River, Michigan.
In July we have a picnic/luncheon; December
is our Christmas luncheon. We hold a silent auction during the July and December
luncheons. The money raised from the silent auction goes into our treasury. Many
fun and interesting items show up for the silent auction.
Special
Activities:
Our
members stitch a plaques for Habitat for Humanity homes built in Cheboygan &
Emmet County, Michigan. The pieces are framed for presentation to the homeowner
on their special day. We also make Kissing Pillows for deploying service
personnel.
How to Join our
Chapter:
Anyone
interested in joining the Northern Michigan Chapter is invited to visit one of
our regular meetings before they join. Dues are $40 for a twelve-month
membership, and benefits include a subscription to Needle Arts (a quarterly
publication of the Embroiderers' Guild of America, Inc.).
